THE DOLOMITES SASLONG HM SHOW COMES TO TV
12/06/26 - 31/10/26
The excitement of the 8th Dolomites Saslong Half Marathon is coming to television.
On Monday, June 15, Rai Sport will broadcast an extensive highlights program dedicated to the famous trail-running race around the Sassolungo.
Viewers will have the chance to relive the outstanding victories of Andrea Prandi and Martina Cumerlato.
Following the spectacular success of the 8th Dolomites Saslong Half Marathon, the renowned trail-running event is ready for its television debut. On Saturday, June 6, runners from 32 countries took on a challenging 21-kilometre course with 900 metres of elevation gain around the Sassolungo mountain group. Stunning scenery and demanding climbs provided unforgettable moments that can be enjoyed on Rai Sport (Channel 58) on Monday, June 15, at 8:50 PM.
Additional broadcasts of the 30-minute TV feature are scheduled in the coming days.
Organized by the ASV Gherdëina Runners committee, the event welcomed 600 participants – the maximum number allowed – in the unique setting of the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites. The participant limit helps protect the natural environment while ensuring the highest quality standards for the race.
Along the technical trails overlooking the Sella Group and the Sassolungo massif, victory went to Andrea Prandi. The athlete from Bormio, born in 1998, raced and won in memory of his grandmother, who had passed away on the eve of the event. South Tyrolean runner Alex Oberbacher finished second. Despite closing the gap on Prandi in the final stages of the race, a photo finish denied him what would have been his fourth Dolomites Saslong Half Marathon victory. Third place went to fellow South Tyrolean Andreas Reiterer.
Martina Cumerlato dominated the women’s race. Originally from Vicenza but now a resident of Val Gardena, she secured her second victory, crossing the finish line at Monte Pana several minutes ahead of Germany’s Annika Seefeld. South Tyrolean athlete Nora Goller completed the podium in third place.
The race highlights will be narrated by RAI journalist Silvano Ploner, joined by Stefano Zanotti, member of the ASV Gherdëina Runners organizing committee, providing expert technical commentary.
