MONTE PANA SIMPLY IRRESISTIBLE
20/03/24 - 08/06/24
On 8 June the sixth edition of the Dolomites Saslong Half Marathon
And on 21 May, the Giro d'Italia will also be under the spell of Monte Pana
The finish of the Dolomite mountain stage is at the headquarters of the Saslong HM
First the Maglia Rosa is decided, then it's time for trail running
Not even the pink race can resist the allure of Monte Pana and so the picturesque location where the Dolomites Saslong Half Marathon usually starts and finishes, this year in its sixth edition scheduled for Saturday 8 June, will be the backdrop for the arrival of the 16th stage of the Giro d'Italia.
The 107th edition of the Giro d'Italia 2024 promises to be as spectacular as ever, and between the Grand Start in Piedmont and the catwalk finish in Rome, one of the most eagerly awaited stages is undoubtedly that of Tuesday 21 May. In fact, the 16th stage will start from Livigno and once climbed the Cima Coppi 2024, no less than the Stelvio Pass, it will arrive after 202 km and 4,350 metres of altitude difference at Santa Cristina in Val Gardena. It is precisely Monte Pana that will be the destination of the big Dolomite stage, in which the contenders for the Maglia Rosa will most likely compete for the title of champion. Already circled in red by the best cyclists on the scene in the Giro, Monte Pana will make the athletes in the saddle sweat, offering a daydream to the two-wheel fans who will flock along the route and keeping the viewers glued to the screen live nationwide to admire the sporting prowess of their favourites and the undisputed splendour of the Dolomites in Val Gardena.
And once the cycling thrill of May has passed, Monte Pana will return to the forefront of high-level sport with the unmissable Dolomites Saslong Half Marathon at the beginning of June.
